Question 12 of 21 · Data

How is this data organized today?

Possible answers

Centralized in a single system

Product data lives in a single reference system.
E.g. a PIM or the ERP holding every product sheet.

Spread across several systems

Data is split across several systems that need connecting.
E.g. BOMs in the PLM, batches in the MES, certificates in a shared folder.

Not organized

Data is scattered across files, emails and people, with no reference system.
E.g. Excel sheets saved on individual computers.

Legal references

  • Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 (ESPR): the passport relies on open, interoperable standards and a decentralised architecture: data stays with the economic operator or its service provider.
  • Data spread across several systems needs a common data model before feeding the passport.
